Angry Can you include .CAB installation files for the Device in future B4PPC releases?

Hi,

I was wondering if you could also include (.CAB) installation files
for the Device in all future releases of Basic4ppc?

When ActiveSync is not working on a Pocket PC Device you can not
install Basic4ppc using the Basic4ppc-Device.exe running on a desktop
or laptop.

I just purchased Basic4ppc version 6.8 and I can not get it to install
on an HP 210 VGA PDA because ActiveSync 4.5 will not connect to the
device. So, I need a (.CAB) installation file that I can install on the device
using a SD or Compact Flash memory card.

I will send you an e-mail about this problem.

I've a 214 which is pretty much the same as the 210 as I understand.

Check Start->Settings->Connections->USB to PC and make sure "Enable advanced network functionality" is not checked.

I don't know when this might be useful but it doesn't work on either my HTC Diamond or my iPAQ 214.

Smile Getting ActiveSync to work on the HP 210 VGA PDA.

Hi,

I tried that and ActiveSync is working now and can
communicate with the HP 210 VGA PDA.

By performing the following steps on the HP 210 VGA PDA
with the USB cable plugged into the Desktop computer:

Check Start->Settings->Connections->USB to PC and make sure "Enable advanced network functionality" is not checked.

ActiveSync Version 4.5 running on the Windows XP Desktop
was able to communicate with the HP 210 VGA PDA.

I can install Basic4ppc Version 6.8 to the device using a USB cable
and ActiveSync Version 4.5 by running the Basic4ppc-Device.exe
file on the desktop.

Thanks for the information!

you could also look in the active sync folder on the desktop,
there used to be a filder there with the B4PPc cab file
c:\Program files\Active sync\Basic4PPC\*

In Vista the location is \Windows\WindowsMobile\Basic4ppc. There are two cab files. I guess that the ARM cab is for PPC2002 and earlier and the ARMV4 cab is for PPC2003 and later - is this correct Erel?

I guess that you are theoretically correct. However I think that they are really identical.

BTW, the cab files of the trial version are available in the downloads page. The full version cab files are available upon request. Users who require it should send an email to support@basic4ppc.com.
