Default Degree symbol in text file

I moved a sub from the sbp file to an external text file.
This sub has this line in:
DMS_out = degrees & "°" & minutes & "'" & seconds & "''"

The symbol for the Degree "°" was not recognized by the text editor program (notepad) and did not appear when the program was running.
I moved it back to the sbp file and it came back...

You can use any text editor, try wordpad instead.

Acented files and with "difent" charecters must be utf-8 formated...You can do this in notepad..when saving chose as encoding the UTF-8 format ( its default is ANSI..This should solve your problem..
