Error open source file

Hello,
Some time, when I try to open source file I have this error :


Error loading file.
Input string was not in a correct format.

I can see this file with my UltraEdit, but I can't open it with the Basicppc...
Is it a solution to open it ?

I think that I have seen this when opening a file written with a later version of Basic4PPC than I was running. I think that you can see the version number in the file with a text editor.

It may be possible (it was for me) to create a new file and paste portions into it as read from the text editor.

Where did the "faulty" file come from?

The files come from the forum. To copy past it is what i do, but of course I must define all objects. I am looking to make small programe to create a new source.

Hi Olivier, I think that Erel aims for backwards compatiblity where any version of Basic4PPC can read files from an older version (but not vice-versa).

So it could be useful to report which files and versions are involved.
