Default How about rating each others apps in the market?

I find it almost impossible to get people to rate and leave comments about my apps. Sure you can do it yourself, or get your friends to give you a 5 with "Bestest app I ever seen!!" comment.

The only serious comment I received was, I considered, unfair, as someone was fixated on a personal choice.

How about us getting together and evaluating each others apps, sincerely and honestly, without prejudice?

Maybe people could ask for evaluations when they submit it to the My Creations forum, or a dedicated thread could be set up which you post to with a link when you want people to rate your creation.

I don't think that the profile pages are viewed a lot.

@netchicken go ahead and start such a thread in the Share your creations forum. I will make it "sticky".

Thumbs up

How many downloads and active installs have you got?

From looking at other similar Apps we are at about the same level. I find the number of downloads a better indicator of App approval than anything else...

i.e. we have 6000+ downloads and 43 feedback. App was released in June.

vs. 550+ downloads and 3 feedback. App was released in Nov. (beginning of)

They're at about that level or thereabouts.. and the same with the number of downloads...

You're better off updating the App about every week or so - to up the number of downloads, as the App appears on various "Just In" lists and the more downloads you have the higher you will appear on related searches. Also look to tweak and adjust your text to get found more easily in the market.

I've also placed my Apps on slideme.org and Amazon and am looking at Blackberry's conversion tool... for Playbook.. I should have the Playbook version ready next week... Just have to go through the steps.

We also have an associated blog and twitter to get people interested.

AdMob numbers are okay, but it's all about the number of active installs for that to work. A good EcPM is no good with a handful of users. It needs to be 10k+ Ideally around 100k+ and more!!

Eps, are you having any success on the amazon and slideme markets? Do you have any paid apps on these markets?

Amazon, not really, but you never know!! I think I need to give this a little time and effort to chivvy it along. Possibly we need to concentrate on Kindle Fire and the display layout specific for these, but haven't really done so.

Slideme.org is good for us, smaller than the official market, but I'm sure it adds funds. At the moment we only do free Apps with AdMobs advertising. So it's all about the active users and installs for us.
