Default Nexus S Update to Ice Cream Sandwich

Hi all,

I updated successfully my Nexus S this morning to the Android Version 4.0.3. All Apps are working OK so far.
The phone seems to be more responsive, the graphic is great and the screen looks somehow sharper than before.

I got the Update offered direct by the internal update function, was a standard rollout. The Nexus S is a "Google" device.

All Android devices are Google Devices....

The specs from the Nexus are about the same to the SGS, thats why asked about it...

I'll see if there's a port on xda...

He means it's a "Google Experience Device" which are standard Android with no OEM additions and are updated directly by Google rather than via the manufacturer. This is good news as my Xoom is also a Google device (since I reflashed it to the US software) so hopefully the 4.3 upgrade for that will be released soon.

So if I understand you correctly, I can turn my SGS to a "Google Device"?

Only if there exists a Google Experience build for it which I doubt. For example I believe that all Nexi worldwide were released with GED software but only the non-3G US builds of the Xoom are GEDs (a source of some annoyance to some non-US purchasers who thought they were buying a GED when they were not - hence my reflashing the Xoom to think it is a US model ), outside the US both WiFi-only and 3G Xooms are not GEDs and are updated by Motorola or the supplying carrier.
