Default Search rules and short words

What are the search rules of this forum?

If I start a search, looking after all posts containing the text "RGB", I get no hits. Why? Is the search string to short?
If I use a four character string like "green", everythings looks fine.

The limit is 3 characters, so it should have worked.
I'll check it.

I also find that I need at least a five character word for search to work.

Four characters works here.
Three characters words are not indexed in the database as it may overload the server.

Then why does a search for "help" bring up no matches when I know it exists in several threads?

Maybe it is a too common word.
Most of the other four words I tried work.

Maybe I hit unlucky with the first few four letter words I tried. I always try to think of five letter words minimum now if I do a search.
