Hi again.

Oh Boy ! This is ''GREAT'' Material. I LOVE THIS ! You Fellows are the greatest !!! Thank you VERY MUCH for this. I got the Serial to work, and the GPSDriver also works. Been walking the Puppy its about 13 Weeks. And yes, I was playing with the GPS4PPC-MJC-Serial.

Question please:
With the ProgressForm showing we have the great Compass on the Form. So, On the HTC Device when the Backlight goes off, and I touch the screen to turn Backlight on again the Compass turns off ! ?

EDIT: An error occurred on sub_gps_displaygps. IndexOUTOfRangeExeption Continue ? Y/N
Klaus can you maybe check this on your HTC ? Bitte
Could someone please explain this to me ? Klaus. I will write the other morgen (GPSLog). mjcoon, your great mister !
Oh, and I sunk you Boat... ha, ha, ha. :-)

Any hints for me maybe ? Did I miss something ?

William

Ah, touching the screen is intended to turn off the targeting to the waypoint/route rather than turning off the compass. There is a menu entry to turn on the compass again. Alternatively if you touch the screen elsewhere than on the form (e.g. the menu bar or title bar; not sure...) does that re-instate the backlight without switching off the compass?

Thanks for the encouraging comments about the compass design. Perhaps I should have included some screenshots in my message...

Regards, Mike.

Edit: added screenshot of the "compass" display. I don't understand why I had to degrade the JPG quality so much or size well below stated forum maximum of "19.5Kb". N.B. it shows a simulated journey; I was not actually travelling at 100 knots! The "VMG" is velocity-made-good, in other words the vector component towards the waypoint. I chose a slightly off-target heading to show this as distinct from speed. The text bar showing arrival time (or anticipated elapsed time) is an option.

Hi mjcoon

Your Post #53 states there should be a "Return" before the error label, so unless you correct this you will get an error MsgBox pop-up even though the GPS device was opened OK!)

There are alot of error labels. Are you talking about Public Sub GPS_Open?
Still getting Nag Msg. Matter of fact, I get 2 Nags. Where do I now add the RETURN ? Please check second Nag. But it's in german. NetCf i got, and its the correct version to.

Best regards.

William

Yes, the Return should be in Public Sub GPS_Open. It is what is different about the -serial version of the program.
Code:
Public Sub GPS_Open
    ErrorLabel(OpenFail)
    Gpsdriver.Open(
"COM1"4800)
    <font color=
"Magenta">Return</font>
OpenFail:

Exception.ControlRef = B4PObject(6)

Msgbox(Exception.Message, "Open GPS fail:")
End Sub
There isn't much in Public Sub ProgressInitialise that could cause a faliure, except for line
Code:
MagneticObj.New1
This is a new object and method in Nav.dll version 1.3, as per
Quote:
Edit: Version 1.31 includes MagneticData class, provides magnetic declination (variation), Inclination and Grid-Variation for point defined by its coordinates.
in http://www.basic4ppc.com/forum/addit...html#post32509. So if your version of Nav.dll is an older one it will be absent. I don't know why the message you get isn't more specific and instead refers to CF3.5.

Mike.

Hi Mike

Thanks Mike for getting back with me on this.

Well I did have that return stament in the correct place. But, forgot to save the Project. OK. one Nag minus. The second Nag I think, (GermanNag) calls for NETCF 3.5. Nav.dll is the newest version 1.3.

Anybody else have some ideas? Would be great.

Thank you much, and have a Very Nice Weekend!

Best regards.

William
