Default Multiple Serial Ports on a Pocket PC.

Hi,

Can you have more than one Serial Port connection open at a time
on a Pocket PC PDA ?

The PDA has a Compact Flash RS232 serial port card that plugs into
the PDA's Compact Flash slot with a short cable and a 9-pin D-Shell
connector for a hardwired serial port connection using Com1.

The PDA also has Bluetooth capability and uses Com8 for the serial
port connection.

Can both Com1 and Com8 serial ports be open at the same time?

Does the Serial2.dll support multiple Com Ports being open at the
same time on a Pocket PC device?

I have a project that uses 2 Pocket PC PDAs. One PDA will be
placed in a fixed location and connected to a control box using
the hardwired RS232 cable. The 2nd PDA will be mobile and it
will communicate with the fixed PDA/control box using the Bluetooth
wireless link.

Yes. You should add one Serial object for each connection.

It is possible with multiple Bluetooth drivers.
AFAIK a single driver can only handle one connection.

No problem, on my Kaiser I'm connecting to my Bluetooth watch on COM6 and external Bluetooth GPS on COM5 simultaneously with no problem.
