ArrayList won't dispose?

I've discovered that I cannot dispose of an ArrayList.

My app creates and disposes of a great many controls dynamically; I'd like to be able to dispose of the array lists when I'm done with them. Otherwise, I'll have to keep track of which array lists are still present, and not try to create them a second time (crash).

Am I missing something?
